Welcome!

My name is Sarah Jiyoon Kwon (권지윤 in Korean). I am a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice, University of Chicago. I hold a Ph.D. in Social Policy and Policy Analysis from Columbia University with a concentration in Economics. My research is motivated by a desire to promote the lives of young children and their families. I study child and family policy and its effect on child and family well-being in the United States and South Korea. I taught "Work and Family Policy" and "Statistical Research Methods II" at the University of Chicago in the 2022-3 academic year.

I recently contributed a piece written in Korean to the Bank of Korea's monthly newsletter in March on Korean child and family policy.

Outside of school, I enjoy exploring cute coffee shops and restaurants in Chicago. K-pop is one big source of daily inspiration.
